Dogs are now tracked by a small implated chip in their neck, it is registered with the dog regisrty and every time they go to a vet it's scanned and if the dog is lost or stolen it will come up with owners info. Why can't we do soething like this for our kids? and put sensors installed in public places when a lost or kidnapped child passes by a signal goes off and a GPS tracking device tells police where they are? Then at 18 they can have the chip removed if they want when they are on their own. Come on parents what's your take on this? if you HAVE kids you know what I mean, you could maybe even check their where abouts 24 hours a day with a GPS web site service? no more wondering fi they are in school right now check the web site!! million dollar idea if you ask me!

Tell the parents of abducted children how LAZY they were to have their kids stolen from them! It's a great idea to know 24/7 where kids are and it would also cut down the abductions for fear of the child having a chip in him or her.

Maybe have it so it's not activated unless they are abducted? like lojac for kids? Hey even the Hospital nursery have a electronic tag system when babies are there.

I'd do it in a hearbeat. Minimally invasive (like earrings!), maximum protection. You're right---less sickos could hurt our innocent children. Now lets find a way to get rid of all the perverts (why are there so many???)

So instead of keeping up with your child, teaching them to listen to you and be where they are supposed to, just chip them like Fido? I think I'll pass. I have no desire to put a chip into my child. My school calls at 10 AM if I don't report an absence. I walk my children to and from school. When they are older, they will walk with each other or friends. I plan to make sure they understand walking or playing alone is dangerous. If they are ever lying to me and in places they aren't supposed to be, they'll be grounded so long that they'll be graduating before they have the chance to disobey again. Chipping a child sounds like lazy parenting to me.

Being chipped means anyone could break into that system and track down children. Sounds alot more unsafe than having them unchipped. And what about witness protection? Someone breaks into the system, finds those kids, and kills the whole family. Why do people have to be so hung up on electronics? Its way too big brother for me. And if the chip is cut out when the kid is stolen or has a defect? Seriously, what kidnapper would be stupid enough to leave the chip in? Its silly to think a chip is a foolproof form of protection.

Its been bieng done alot longer than when it came out for pets. Normally figure when you hear about anything. your at least 20 years behind. Think about it, The stealth was out for 20 years before it was publicized and we have alot more going on that you will find out way down the road. I have seen stuff that would scare civilians.

I guarantee this will be happening in 15 or 20 years, with the degradation of our privacy, big brother and what-not. We're already all on giant computers and we have to always carry ID, soon we're going to get all-in-one cards (making it even easier for identity thieves to get away with it).
