i am just wondering how many tons of it coffee shops around the world disposed of in the garbage...i am in process of opening my own coffee shop,i want to learn of a more responsible way of disposing my basic waste....i am hoping that in this way i can help our environment if in any way coffee product wastes are a hazard to the environment.

Not only can you compost it but, if there is a local micro-brewery you may be able to sell it to them or the people there. Small quantities of coffee can be used in some beers.

as others say it is a compostable & good soil conditioner

It also makes a very good slug deterent as caffine is poisunous to them.

So if you have a local smallholder supplying you fresh salads then they can take back your old grounds, and probably other compostable waste too.

waste coffee powder can be used as a manure for rose plant and also for the plant of 'kadi patta' ( I dont' know the english word for this) It can also be used for cleaning greasy vessels
