I think it is the reverse that is true.
Depression causes a lack of sleep. Thereafter insomnia aggravates the depression.

It can be but often depression causes sleep loss as people often cant get to sleep at night & may wake much earlier in the morning. If a nights sleep makes you feel so much better then perhaps it is just you feeling a bit down rather than true clinical depression

Of course. And lack of sleep can be due to depression. It's a vicious circle that can be so hard to break. Glad you feel better after a good night's sleep. Try to relax as much as possible, and get into a relaxing bedtime routine which should help your sleep patterns. Night, night, sleep tight, and sweet dreams.

Getting enough quality sleep each day is vital for all kinds of reasons. If you are tired you are more likely to feel low and not able to achieve much. Hoewever too much sleep or at least staying in bed for too long can also indicate depression. Getting the balance right is the key.

It can be if you're not getting enough sleep for a prolonged amount of time because not getting enough sleep can disrupt your body chemistry. Usually it's the depression that causes the lack of sleep.

No. "Sadness" and feeling "pissed off" can be fixed by a good nights sleep or caused by lack of sleep.
Depression cannot be fixed by a nights sleep, its more deep rooted than that.

Yes! of course. But, there could be other causes as well. For instance, main cause of depression is your perception. That is how you perceive the world, what words do you possess to see this world.
