yes my cat was bitten by a black widow, and developed a big abscess on his side, took him to the vet and got meds for him, the the other side got infected, i was holding him when i felt it and he jumped out of my arms, when he did the abscess busted, all the way to the wall at least 7 feet away, my cats side exploded, it was wild, later we found the nest of spiders, he had been bitten more than once, but he was fine after he healed

More than likely not a spider bite but it is possible. More than likely it is a cat bite abcess or other type of wound. Your cat has an infection never the less and probably has a fever that is making him feel lousy. Your cat needs to have this wound cleaned out and get on an antibiotic

I don't think they are immune to bite, probably they are quicker than the spiders and kill them before the spider has a chance to bite the cat

I had a cat bitten by a snake once.. the poor thing, the whole side of his face swole up.. Luckily the vet helped and it wasnt deadly.. He recovered.
