Have you tried this?
Using WinZip or WinRar on

wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe
Right Click > Drag > Release > Extract to a folder

go into that folder now

wmp11.exe
Right Click > Drag > Release > Extract to a folder
wmfdist11.EXE
Right Click > Drag > Release > Extract to a folder

inside are the contents of the installer, which includes wmplayer.exe. Try running wmplayer.exe from there. \wmp11\

if it doesn't work then go into the

\wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu\ wmp11\ update\ UPDATE.EXE
run that
\wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu\ wmfdist11\ update\ UPDATE.EXE
and run that

that should be done
