Yes, honey is a natural food and is good for you. According to the site, Interesting Honey Facts:
There are over 300 different varieties of honey produced in the United States, each having it's own distinct color and flavor. The characteristics of honey are determined by the different floral sources from which the honeybees gather their nectar.
You may think of honey as just a natural sweetener, but there are many more redeeming qualities than just great taste! Pure, unprocessed honey (like ours!) is loaded with good stuff such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. No wonder honey is known as the "ancient healer"!
Did you know…?
• Honey is antimicrobial due to it's high sugar content, low pH and the presence of organic acids (Use it to treat cuts, scrapes and burns as well as to prevent scarring!)
• Honey may help treat your allergies!
• Honey is high in carbohydrates and is therefore a great energy source.
• Honey contains the vitamins B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid.
• Honey contains the minerals calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, sodium and zinc.
• The natural antioxidants found in honey are chrysin, pinobanskin, vitamin C, catalase and pinocembrin.
• Unprocessed honey contains enzymes that are considered essential for good health! We do not subject our honey to high heat nor do we force it through micro filters - our honey is pure and natural which assures you that you are getting a "healthy" product!
• Generally, darker honeys and those with higher water content have stronger antioxidant potential. The antioxidants identified thus far in honey are pinocembrin, pinobanksin, chrysin and galagin. Pinocembrin is unique to honey and found in the highest amount relative to the others. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), catalase and selenium are also present.
• Diabetics must control their total intake of carbohydrates, not the type. Therefore, honey may be included in a diabetic diet. They must, however, comply with the medical regime and diet instructions prescribed by their individual healthcare providers to keep blood sugar levels under control.
• Honey is used as a hair and facial treatment due to the fact that it attracts and retains moisture. Take the time to read: "Honey You're a Natural Beauty"!
• Using honey in your baked goods will keep them moist for a longer period of time. (See the "Helpful Hints" section on our recipe page for cooking tips!)
• Honey never goes "bad". It is slightly acidic and, therefore, not conducive for bacterial growth.
• Honey is the only food produced by insects that is eaten by man!
• Honey is good and it is good for you - it belongs in your medicine cabinet as well as your cupboard!

Manuka Honey has become known as the 'healing honey' for good reason, and its therapeutic qualities have now become well documented.
In particular active manuka honey provides you with powerful, natural, antibiotic and antiseptic properties. It can be used both internally, for example it is good for digestive problems and peptic and stomach ulcers, or externally, such as on cuts / wounds and leg ulcers, among being able to aid many issues. It can even be obtained in a sterilised form in a tube for external use.
Studies have shown honey, and in particular Active Manuka Honey, can inhibit Helicobacter pylori, a contributing factor in many digestive problems.
It is easy on your stomach. You don't suffer any harsh effects on your stomach from synthetic alternatives.
If you are taking manuka honey internally, then you will find it has quite a unique, stong taste, that varies on the strength of the manuka honey you are using.

I've heard it is good for you. It's a natural sugar. As long as you aren't eating too much daily it shouldn't cause you any problems. The only people who should not have honey are babies, it can give them a fatal form of botulism. For anyone over the age of 3 it should be okay.

I'm not really sure but it tastes really good!
But this is for certain...if you've got like a sore throat, then just add a spoonful of honey in a glass of hot water and a spoonful of freshly squeezed lemon. Stir it and drink. It really helps. i do it all the time!
Also if you've got a cold a spoon of honey in the morning everyday, should help.

Honey is no good for anybody, it's only good for the bees especially the queen bee. But there is no evidence that eating honey has got any particular benefits as far as the body is concerned.
