Hi, i'm thinking about going to Thailand with my 14 month old baby and my girlfriend. I love to get a good bargin. My interests are electronics , gadgets, magic and (not so much) clothes. Also Vietnam is high on my list too. Like to see historic military stuff.
Would you take a pram over there? where is the best place to stay or shop? what would avoid? I would appreciate any comments . Thanks .Regards Gav.

If you want to shop for electronics and the rest you mention then Bangkok will give you (perhaps) some bargains. If your are from a country that uses a UK-type triple square electic plug/socket then for each piece of electrical item you will need a travel plug adaptor as they use a non-earthed two pin plug here. As for young babies and kids - oh no please the pavements are crowded and dangerous with many street food vendors using boiling water and hot fat, charcole and gas burners, the surfaces are uneven and sometimes with motorcycles driving on them; not a safe or comforatble place for kids.
You can get good bargains in Singapore or KL and they use the same UK-based electric plug system and voltage. More child friendly too.

I think Asia is a shopping heaven but pls not with a baby. It's very crowded,hot/humid and nor you nor your family will enjoy it unless your girlfriend and the baby stay in a resort and you check out whatever you look for.

AS long as that kid is not screaming and crying the whole trip on the airplane. I guess its ok. But I would leave the kid home
