I think people can basically choice the path they want to take in life. I have had alot of failure and i just go on and learn and try harder. I don't feel sorry for myself i just try to do better next time. I have a friend who constantly beeoches about her life but she refuses to get a job and wont stop complaining but she isn't doing anything to improve her situations.

Apparently "thejaundiced_eye" has never read the book of Job.

Anyhow, to answer the question -- life ain't fair, nobody promised you a rose garden and all such platitudes. There's a bit in the New Testament to the effect that the haves will be given more, the have-not will lose the little they have. Life is a (b)itch.

God rewards the good and punishes the bad. It is no more complex than that. Poverty is a byproduct of wickedness. Additionally, one must ask themselves this very tough question: If the Poor are poor because they are being punished, is "helping" the poor going against the will of God? I have a marvelous life, and I do give back. I am a significant patron to Our City's Symphony, and I am on a board that administers funds for a philanthropic foundation that benefits the arts.

The Good Lord will test our faith in Him, the point is to stay strong in your faith and rely on Him.
I'm not saying all people are like this, but the ones that think their having an easy life also comes at a price and it is a price that is to high to pay. I would rather have hard times, than an easy life.
The people that have dissappointment and hard times are the ones that the Good Lord is watching and testing their faith. I'd rather God test me, than for me to test God. I would come up on the wrong end of the stick, if I tested God.

There's no such thing as an easy or a miserable life. it depends on how you look at life that matters. When say someone has an easy life compared to ours, it's materialism that's talking. We see their life as easy because perhaps they have things or experience things you don't but the truth is even the seemingly happy people have misery in their "easy life". take for example prince William of Britain. we, regular people, might see his life as easy but to him it's miserable because of the things he is not allowed to do. and then we might see the life of an average family as miserable but to them, their life is easy because they have each other. so it's up to you really. it's what you make of your life that matters. I'm a catholic christian by the way...

You are an idiot. My fiance is blind and is a very devout Christian. She waited until she married to have sex and did all the things Christians are supposed to do. She was divorced after being married 5 years. Why? Her husband (also a Christian) was having affairs and said he grew tired of caring for a blind person. If what you just said is true, my girlfriend was punished for being blind. Again, you are an idiot.

Numerous variables come into play. I think the biggest one would be on the individual. I know a guy that moved from poverty in Zimbabwe to the US a couple years ago. He's working 2 jobs and going to nursing school. He's busting his tail but he'll have a great carreer. He paved his own destiny through blood, sweat, and tears. Oh yeah...He's a Christian and he credits Jesus Christ for his guidance and motivation.

I'm not Christian, but I've had many people tell me I'm the most unlucky fellow they've ever met.
And, I do have some pretty bad stuff happening to me right now; things beyond my control.
I have learned not to "weird out" about it anymore, as stress & worrying do not change it one way or the other.
However, when circumstances change, you can bet I'm thanking G-d above for His intervention!!

Some people are born with rich parents. Some people get good educations. Some people are born scum and are school drop outs that's not hard to figure. And all the praying in the world wont change it a damn bit. BB

All people face various sorts of problems while living on earth, problems can be personal or collective. And every one must learn to solve these problems individually or collectively.
In this age of human maturity, it is considered as unjustice for people to enjoy individual abundance, while leaving others in their sufferings. World organizations are trying actively to solve all problems (such as poverty, hunger, disease...) and trying to build a world of justice, love and prosperity for all. And mature individuals have the duty to learn to contribute their physical and spiritual capacities to support these institutions in their endeavours.
