The best weddings are the ones that are well "scripted." Make sure to have a great flow to your wedding. Set a timeline and decide ahead of time the order you will be doing things. My suggestion: toasts, cake, dancing. Those three in that order spells success.

Dancing and music is also key to a great party. Consider opening up the dance floor during your father/daughter dance to other parent/child couples. This is very sweet and it brings the better portion of your wedding guest list out onto the dance floor. Then, hook them with a great generation bridging song (like the Foundations "Buttercup") and your dance floor will stay packed.

Again with dancing and music, select ahead of time great music for the DJ to play. Think classic songs that EVERYONE knows, such as "Ain't No Mountatin High Enough" "Thiller" "STOP in the name of love." It doesn't matter if the song is lovey-dovey or not, it matters if it makes grandma and the flowergirl dance.

MIne of course! We started with the rehearsal dinner at a local crab shack and ate crabs all night long...filling the place up. Then the wedding was on a gorgeous July afternoon (I was suprised too!) and move the reception to the Officer's Club at the Navy Base, where we had a water view all afternoon. The pictures were great, since the photographer decided to stay, and took the best pics after his time was up. We then adjourned to the hotel, where we continued the party poolside. Both families were involved the entire time. All weddings since have been compared to ours, and ours wins hands down. Didn't cost a lot, but people had fun!

Not intending to sound vain, but ours was the best and unique to all our guests. We got married on a 250 passenger yacht in Toronto Harbour, cruising for 5 hours. The ceremony and reception all in on the yacht. That was 14 years ago. People STILL talk about it, saying how awesome it was. It was a first for everyone! We had an awesome DJ, great food and we had a hoot with the staff and Captain. We were clearly the party boat out on the lake that night, and people at the yacht clubs nearby all called greetings from land! Our wedding pictures have the CN Tower and Skydome in background! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

in a small country bar rented for the day. It was the country music and dancing that I enjoyed. the couple came to each booth , greeting the people and thanked us for coming. The parents gve us each a small gift as we left. ( i got a candle holder) they were all different. The flowers on the table were from the yard ans smelled really nice. The food was great and abundant, Prepared by the family . all kinds of salads and pastas and ham and fried chicken and corn on the cob and baked potatoes. The cake was really good and dekuxe and rich, done by a n aunt of the bride. Ice cream was also served.
