I have found problem with my Lens Hood which I bought ,What's happened?

Two days ago,I have bought New Hoya Multi Angles Lens Hood 58mm, the problem was Lens Cap couldn't put back on my Lens Hood 58mm ,but the sizes of Lens Hood and Lens Cap were the same,What's Happened?

If your lens hood screws into the filter screw of the lens, then it will effectively slightly lessen the circumference there and the lens cap will be too large to fit - we're only talking millimetres, but it will be enough to cause the problem you enquire about.

A hood will protect your lens so don't worry too much!
