When I was sworn into the military the oath asked us to "swear or affirm" our loyalty and service to the U.S.
God didn't come into it.
The US Military might be (in majority) Christian, but it is not a prerequisite to serving, and all faiths (or lack-of-faiths) are given their due respect.
Religious demographic US Military:
Protestant: 35%
Catholic/Orthodox: 22%
Other Christian: 11%
Atheist/no religion: 21%
Jewish:1%
Muslim:1%
Buddhist/Hindu:2%
Other religions/unknown/refused to answer:6%

I ain't sure but I believe theres an atheist soldiers association out there. They have a website but don't ask me where to find it. Fis around and if they have an alternate motto it'll probably be on there.

When you swear the oath you do not have to swear to god just Queen and country.
there is a much much higher percentage of Atheists to muslims in the Army.
because they have such a strange belief system they have to starve them selves and pray all the time so they havent got much time for serving.
plus they seem to rather enjoy blowing up their country over protecting it.

I know alot of people in the military and some are non-Christan and few atheists. Those friends of mine say they fight for their country and their loved ones. Of course most of my military friends no matter their religion say that their fighting for revenge on those who were killed. I don't know any Muslims but I'm sure they have their reasons

You must be stupid, the military doesn't care if you believe in god they just want you to do your job. And I know quite a few atheists that are in the armed forces. Two, muslims believe in allah which in arabic means god. I should get paid for this.

I haven't but my husband did. When taking the oath of service, they can either swear or affirm and they aren't required to repeat anything about God (though I think something is included, I can't recall specifically what).

I'm sure that most armed forces don't give a care what religion people are as long as they get joined up and fight for any lost cause.
