I am six years older than my b/f, my granny was 11 years older than my grandad, they were married for over 60 years, age does not matter, it is love and respect and trust that matters, and there is no age limit to those things.

Hi justice case!!!
If you break each other hearts it doesn't necessarily need to be for that reason.
I know many couples like that, and a relationship, works, for love respect and consideration, and none of it has to be with age!!!
I see nothing wrong as long as this three important components are present. just start one day at a time, and to tell you the truth, 6 years is NOT really that much difference,.
What is important is the maturity, with what both go into this relationship. Do you think 5 years is a lot ???
Try 12 years difference and 12 years married!!!!
And what end up the relationship it was NOT age difference, but irresponsibility, on his part. ( He was the youngest one). Also he never really love her, he saw her more like a mother figure, rather. That's NOT fair!!!!
If you go into this relationship, take responsibility, as a partner, active lover. treat her with the most respect and you'll have the same and many years of good quality, love
At the first hint of any one of you getting too possessive, you should talk. This relationship, should be based in trust, or if NOT what get into it, in the first place!!!
I wish you the best!! GOD BLESS YOU & GOOD LUCK

About 'breaking hearts' - well that's everyone's concern when they start a relationship, whether there's an age difference or not. 6 years isn't much really is it...but a 16 year old son could be a potential problem. Will he accept you? Could you stand living with him there or his coming and going to his mum's ? Are there any other problems that make you hesitate, because I don't think the six years thing is very important at all.

I used to imagine someone that age does no longer nonetheless be having sex besides the undeniable fact that the older i'm getting the added I keep in mind that only because someone is of a particular age it does no longer mean they provide up having sexual relations contributors. If the guy is healthful and is waiting to have sex then he can father babies for a lengthy time period (compared to women folk who can't have babies after a particular age). No idea why a guy might want to opt for a baby at sixty six besides the undeniable fact that!!

The age will only mean something if you let it. If you love this woman......marry her and don't worry about anyone or anything else. As for either of you breaking each others hearts......that can happen to anyone that doesn't work hard at a marriage...theres no guarantees.
Good Luck to you bothx

Women usually age worse than men. You might end up dumping her for a 20 year old bimbo some day when she starts to look older than you.

if you were 16 and she were 22 it would be a bad idea, if you were 70 and she were 76 it would be no problem....
i'm guessing she's at least 32 which means you are at least 26...
the biggest problem would be if you were too young to have settled down and suddenly wanted to change everything.
I'd see no problem with a 26+ yr old marrying a woman 6yrs older than him.

The situation you are in is fine.... if you have genuine love for each other then the age difference shouldn't matter to you. i think you can both manage the situation as long as you are loving, happy and caring towards each other aswell as your son everything will be fine.
