Everybody snores. The snoring noise we make while sleeping comes from the vibration of our nasal passages as we breathe. The muscles in your nose and throat relax when you sleep and narrow your airways enough to make it easy to snore. Only some people have medical reasons for their snoring. The rest of us naturally make those embarrassing noises in our sleep.

I think it happens when you're sleeping in an odd position and your nasal passage is restricted. Like when you blow up a balloon and stretch the mouth of the balloon so you get that squeeky sound. Well this is much larger, but it's sort of like that - the air has a smaller space to get through when you're lying in an odd position, so the sides of the nasal passage 'squish' together (to use the technical term!) when you breath in and makes that noise.

ok. let me tell u. when the air passage through the nose is blocked, we tend to breathe through our mouth. when we do that, the soft palate at the nasa cavity will vibrate n make a snoring sound
