I have been relaxing it for like all of my life and I'm a poor college student so I can't afford to go to a salon.

I want curls that last longer than a curling iron

reverse the process and go get a perm that will give you the amount of curl that you desire. You can do them at home but make sure you use larger rollers because the smaller ones will make you look like a poodle.

Leave it alone. If you've been relaxing it, it's been chemically treated enough for now. If you stop relaxing it the curls will return. In the meantime, you can curl it with curlers or a curling iron daily.

If you want long term curly hair you will have to go to the salon, but short term make your hair damp the plait it into two plaits. Leave it for the night. Then it should stay for the day. Good Luck, trying different ideas.

Try a curling iron? Or you could get it wet at night, and roll it. May help?
