Suppose a man has a mental condition where he has multiple personalites(It's skitzophrenia I think.) If these "two men" within the same body date 2 different woman, is it cheating? By technicality, both men are the same guy who is dating two women. What do you think about this?

Participants. You have misunderstood me. I am not asking because it would benifit my social life in anyway. I am asking because as an intellectual, I was bewildered by the idea.

This is truly a FASCINATING question.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's "cheating". This person (I'm assuming hypothetically) has severe psychological issues. I'm a strong believer in being loyal to the one you're with. So if one man is seeing two women, it doesn't really matter to me if he has mental problems, it's just not right.

Furthermore, it takes a strong woman to date someone who has multiple personalities... let alone two women. But if that were to happen, I believe these women would consider it cheating. It's one man, one soul...

Gosh, you've seriously boggled my mind with this question! Now I'm gonna go to bed thinking about men who have multiple personalities, lol.

All I can say is WOW. This is the best question I've read so far, no doubt, and I would LOVE to hear a professional's opinion on this.

First of all skitzophrenia does not have multiple personalites, they have slipt personalites, one is good, one is evil. Multiple personality is when a person slipts from the core into different people to help them survie, this has to be created within the ages of birth to 6 years old. While skitzophrenia , well most doctors see them as a real danger to people, you don't know when they are going to go off and really harm someone. So my question is one of your people that way? So I think it is still cheating cause if you are skitzophrenica, then you have some idea what is going on, and tht you are seeing someone else, and if you did not know that you would not be asking this question.

I think for us who don't have too much knowledge about this medical condition it may be hard to tell. If the guy really has double personality then he's two ppl trapped in the same body, I don't think it's cheating. I suggest a thorough evaluation by the partner before accepting this excuse.

Baby, no offense...but...has he been clinicly diagnoised as a multiple personality or is he telling you this? Ask about his doctor, if he really cares about you he'll let you in on his treatment and the doc will help you to understand his medical problem otherwise head for the hills...this guy is crazy if he thinks you should not look into his "problem" on a more logical level...no I am not Mrs. Spock, but I would surely like to speak to his "doctor". If he's for real he's got a doctor. If not beam me up!! Love Mom

If you're only dating, it's not cheating. Schizophrenia is auditory hallucinations (hearing voices). What you're referring to is multiple personality disorder and it's not in the MDSM book until version IV. Since all cases of it are diagnosed by only a handful of doctors and only in the US, it is possibly a form of malingering.
(the patient is faking).

Hmm that is a very intellectual question. I say its both cheating and being faithful. There is no reason to suppose the two have to be mutually exclusive.

I myself wouldn't want to go out with a man that has multiple personalities. I'm not sure other women would either. We take enough of your **** without having to handle more than one of your personalities.

I don't think men like that have the capability to date. They could date women who do have the same disorder, that way there is nothing nobody can frown upon.

Or they could plead insanity?

In reality, that would not be cheating, but legally it would be viewed as such since both "people" are using the same body.

Humans are such commonplace little creatures.
