I suppose, but not if you're like these lazy Christians who let their preachers tell them what's in the bible cause they don't want to read it themselves.

I believe that Jesus was indeed a messenger from God and his teachings were about enlightenment. Even his followers (disciples) misunderstood the message he delivered. If one takes his direct quotes and interpretes them correctly, one would be enlightened. However, the way the Bible is written (and interpreted by most) one would have a hard time being enlightened.

The word of God is a lamp unto your feet (around you) and a light unto your path (further from you). Lamp and light are both enlightenment. A Christian reads the word of God the Holy Spirit provides the revelation (enlightenment).
