sure why not. its not like they're your date or anything. and that gives you the freedom to dance with any single boys at the dance. lucky you.

You don't need a date to have a great time. I went to my senior prom with three of my best friends and we had the best night ever. I think that you should plan to go with your friends and if you get asked, then good for you. At least if you plan with your friends, you won't just be sitting around hoping that someone will ask you.
Another suggestion, you could ask someone yourself. I know that's hard and a somewhat scary thing to do but it is another alternative. Maybe a guy friend would want to take you. Make sure he doesn't spend all his money on Ebay right before it, though. My friend did that to me for our winter formal and I ended up going with my cousin. I was mad, but we're still friends.
Just have fun no matter what you decided to do.

Honestly, Just be yourself. If you are shy, it is time to come out of your shell. Girls like guys who are strong and confident. You already know what you want so go get it. Try striking up a conversation about something in her world. Sports, school activities, or even a new movie. 1 thing, don't give up who you are. She may not be the one to ask. My daughter's have both went with good friends, just a suggestion. that way you know you'll have a great time! Good luck and let me know.. Sam

I'm not so sure what the winter ball is but last night I went to a ball it was our welcome home from Iraq ball and there were alot of people that were there just to hang out and have a good time even though they didn't have dates so I think it is acceptable to go with your friends hang out and have a good time.

Personally, i would rather go to dances alone. It sounds like fun going with friends. you'll porbably have more fun that way anyways. If you really really want a date, then ask someone you like. Boys dont always have to ask the girls yah know ;)

if you dont think the guy of your dreams is going to ask you out then why dont you ask him!! i mean guys like girls with guts but dont ever act like something your not just to impress them. Guys dont like perfect girls, sure they might like to look at them but its the down to earth girls that the "smart"(as in anything besides stupid shallow boys who like girls for there appearences and not for whats on the inside) guys like. I mean whos going to actually have an interesting conversation with a barbie doll made out of plastic. Just go for it and ask him. what have you got to lose, and even if some guy says no, there is someone out there who will admire you for you as a person inside and out.

If you want to go-then go!! If you go there with a guy who asked you good! If not, a few girlfriends and you go-good! Dress up and have a nice time! Take care.

I'm going to my winter formal with one of my good girlfriends, because its always awkward when I take guys to those kinds of things. So its cool, if you don't mind.
