Do you hover over the seat or lift it up first?

I don't care to touch any part of the seat with any part of my body if it's covered with urine/feces/hair/etc.. If I hover, I'm hovering over the seat. Just think of all the urine that's splashed up under the rim that you can't see until you touch it to lift it up. Besides, I only hover if the seat's actually visibly dirty and all the other toilets are unavailable. Otherwise I sit. I've yet to get sick or catch some dreaded disease from sitting on a public toilet. :)

I just hover. If the seat is really wet, I check another stall and there is usually one that is dry. I don't think I've ever flipped the seat up since I try to touch as little as possible but I have taken a huge wad of toilet paper and wiped the seat off before 'hovering'. I'm always afraid that the person going in after me is going to think I'm the one who peed all over the seat...

I am not a guy so I don't lift up the seat at all. If the bathroom is in disgusting condition I would hover. If I had to do #2 for sure, I would put toilet paper around the seat. If the bathroom has those toilet seat germ gaurd paper that you put around the seat I would definately use one.

After reviewing your questions I see you have a fascination with toilets.
No, I am not a female but I thought I'd respond to your questions anyway.
Why do you girls hover? You cannot catch a disease from a toilet seat.
As a male when I have to sit down on a public toilet I will first grab some toilet paper and wipe it down. This is because guys who pee standing often times do not have the best aim. I then grab one of those paper things if they are available and put it down just in case.
Also in regard to women peeing standing up I have seen this done with a little work girls can aim.

if the seat is dirty, I would lift it up to see if it's cleaner underneath it. even though I'm hovering, I would not like to hover over a dirty toilet seat, so I'd hover over whichever part is cleaner or at least more bearable.

Anyway, I am not a girl so I don't hover. I plonk my bumper on the toilet seat.

If there aren't any seat covers, sometimes I lay down strips of toilet paper to cover the seat and then sit down.

i do not care if the rest room does seem sparkling it truly is a public restroom and have self assurance me i does no longer sit down my butt on no public rest room seat,reason you do not understand who been there previously you,so i'd hover only to be on the secure part.
