If you are old enough, it could have been in the late 1930's. Now its up to the immigrants (legal or illegal) to keep this nation going.

Don't be silly. They are only a fraction of the people there, the others are mostly legal immigrants.

You do realize that when everyone else speaks a different language and has a different culture, it isn't as desirable a job for our people as well, don't you? And the wages paid have gone WAY down in real dollars since illegals started coming. Save us from this benevolence on the part of the illegals, please.

However, if I am wrong, then we really shouldn't give benefits to the farmer workers out of work due to the citrus freeze in CA, should we?

I guess we'd better not, since those are jobs only illegal immigrants do.

That is ridiculous. For starters, you can't tell if someone is an American or an immigrant just by looking. Do you go up to the farm workers and ask them?

Secondly, citizens and legal immigrants keep this nation going. Illegal immigrants do not.

Last year.

Also, the U.S. Government says that over 75% of farmworkers are Americans.

Just not to long ago I used to see Americans picking fruit from trees because it paid well. Now growers hire illegal aliens to maximize profit.

Taxpayers then pick up the bill for businesses hiring illegal aliens. California spends over $10 billion yearly on illegal aliens. That results in $1,100 in extra taxes for every family in California.

No offense but there are allot of illegal/legal Mexicans doing jobs that pay $45.00 an hour. I know of one company that will train them then send them off to run equipment.

So don't try to say that you guys do all the jobs America doesn't want.

I live in the south where there are many farmers. Most farmers rely on their families to help work on the farm. If they need more help, they can usually get it by asking for it from their friends in town. They may have to pay a small fee to the workers, but they would rather have their friends help them then criminals.

Many times actually.

I'd recommend an eye exam. Perhaps your vision being a bit weak may explain why you think immigrants are entirely running our farms.

Saw them all the time when I lived in Nebraska. Trust me......I understand the need for validation and wanting to know that what they do is important.......but it crosses the line when you get so pompous as to think they keep the nation going all by themselves.
