I don't beleive in god!!! Why is it that most, not all, christians feel that they have the right to shove thier beliefs down my throat and expect me to beleive it? Why is it that I am always wrong in thier eyes? Why is it that they will never see my point of view? Why, because I don't belive in god do they see me as less than them? I don't beleive in god, but I do have the right to have an opinion!!!
Before all christians jump on here and start saying that they don't do any of the above mentioned things, I'm not directing this at ALL christians!!!

I am a Hindu and not a Christian.
I understand from your statements about the troubles when others force upon you. I feel that freedom is the first thing in religion and that is the first step towards God. No one can look down upon anyone. If any one turns against you in future "Forgive them for they know not what they do".
But in terms of God, I just share my opinion. It is upto you. Which God do you not believe in? Is it the God who sits in heaven, commanding people, making us sinners and then reviving them and taking account of our actions in a notebook and evaluating them to punish/reward later.
If that is the case, there are two non-believers now. Come on, these are childish stories, to introduce Godhood and discipline to children. It may have its importance but we have to Grow UP.
In Hinduism and I think in most religions, God is one who is the primordial cause. Without him we and the creation could not be.
Scientifically, If we say that this creation has happened, then for any creation to happen, there should be material cause and an intelligent cause.
Inert things cannot create. A stone cannot create anything, but a human can. Similarly you cannot create anything from nothing. If this varied creation is accepted, then the creation has started from a cause which is both material and intelligent. That cause should exist by itself (for if it is also a creation, then the logic applies). This does not violate science. A thing which is both intelligent and ever-existent is one from which creation should have ebbed out. This is the only scientific presuppositon and not an assumption.
That prime thing is called God in general Religion, Truth in Philosophy and through different names in different religions.
Wished to be short but already long. So not getting into the details of why worshipping that God and other related questions. This is my perception and wished to share with you.

Hmm. You know I have never ever had any one shove anything down my throat... In fact I really just do not listen to any one when some one is pressuring me. Try not to let it bother you when some one is trying to shove something down your throat.. Just walk away from them.. Believe it or not, I am a christian. I do try to share the "gospel" with people because I do love people and would like to see as many people get saved. However just like it was mentioned above. We do it because we feel like we have an obligation to. However, people that feel the obiligation to SHOVE it down your throats... Well I apologize to you that you had to deal with that. It truly is in poor taste. I realize that it can be very annoying and I mean it when I sincerely apologize for the way some christians have treated you! I also thank you for acknowledging that we are not all like that. I sincerely wish you the best

I am a Christian and I do not believe we have the right ot shove Christianity down your throat either. I believe I have the right to say I believe in God though.
Now on the flip side of the coin, go to almost any college in America and tell your classmates and professor's you believe in God and intelligent design or Creationism. See who starts doing the screaming and shoving then. You can be told how stupid you are more times in one day by doing that, than most will hear in a decade. Works both ways!

What happened to change your mind? I will tell you though from my point of view that even if you are atheist or a devil worshiper or anything whatsoever it is my faith in God that I know God loves us all no matter what we are and that our sins will be forgiven if we trust in him. And I'd be worried if you didn't have a opinion, whether you believe or not. If you are a productive member of society, take care of yourself and your family, are responsible for your actions..I have no problem with you and it's my faith that allows me to do so! I always say I'm a Christian, I never said I was a good one, but I strive to be!

Things...beings greater than ourselves exist whether we believe in them or not. If you want to not believe in God, then I don't feel that I can stop you. But a life without God feels sad, depressing and hopeless. What do you have to look forward to after you die. In your views, nothing(I think.) It is said that you can not truly live unless you understand that you will die. Regardless of your views, you are still a beautiful person and a child of God. I am only disappointed because you are missing out on some of the most incredible, immense joy, that you could ever possibly try to understand. Go in peace. I am not going to try to convert you, I feel as though you have made up your mind and that my words are of little significance to you. At the very least, live by the principles of Christians--love one another, be kind, compassionate. You know...be a good person.

Paul, when he declared himself an Apostle, and took over the early church, wanted to convert everyone in the world to what he had perverted christianity into, so he ordered all his little droogies to go out and convert everyone.
Since then, Christians have forced their beliefs on people, with missionaries and the sword, using the time honored tradition of "convert or die".
Eh, it's the way...

We as christians think we "all sin and fall short of the glory of God" So why would we think we are better than you?
"Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like ME!"
If they do this send them to me and I'll give then a wack up side da head!

it is because they have been brainwashed into believing that their religion is the only true religion when it is not true. i am a pagan and it is a beutiful and it promotes free thought. the ting is once you see how christianity brainwashes its followers you start feeling like there is no hope for the followers ever to think for themselves again.
i personally believe what they do is wrong as their god says do not judge but they only choose to heed certain parts of their bible rather than the whole thing.
blessed be

you were never truly a Christian you just were taking up space in the pew kinda like you are here in the Religion & Spirituality section. I think they need a section "the absence of Religion & Spirituality" just for you morons who want to whine about being opressed by Christians and the violation they feel. there comes a time when God ceeses to see you, I wish I didn't have to filter though your godlessness sensabilities.
yes we are to STAND for Righteousness and if it offends you NOT SORRY ONE BIT>>DEAL WITH IT OR MOVE ON
