Just because a woman may be a feminist, it does not mean she is a man hater, i have very strong views as a woman but i do not/would never try to walk all over my man, he would not stand for it, and i wouldn't dream of ever doing that, i just wanted to know why some guys find this type of woman intimidating? if a feminist makes a guy feel this way...then maybe there are serious issues that this guy needs to addresss for himself about whats going on inside of him.

As a guy who is in college in a major that is dominated by females, no. I honestly see it as a plus because it usually leads to good conversations about women's rights and American society as opposed to the societies from around the world. Some may feel intimidated but as long as the female is not overly aggressive and wanting to fight over it, i don't see why it would be intimidating.

I chalk this up to when someone you just started talking to makes it a point to let you know they are a jew. I don't feel intimidated I feel it's annoying because I don't care. As far as I am concerned you are a PERSON.
Aren't all women feminists? By definition a feminist is a woman who believes in equal rights. Which would be normal so why point it out? The perception of feminism is usually some head strong woman who spouts something about womens' rights every other sentence.
My mother is a black woman and if ANY woman is feminist to the core it'd be a black one. She doesn't put up with bs and let's actions speak louder then words. If someone is in the way that's an obstacle. Doesn't matter if they are male or female.
She is a person who knows what she's capable of and an individual who gets the job done that happens to be a woman. She has her own house, drives her own car and pays her own bills. And gets in anyone's face if they are wrong.
She doesn't need a label.

No, not afraid. Just dislike.
I don't like to be with a woman who just wants to sit about putting down men.
I don't sit around and debase women, but for many of the so-called "feminist" woman, it usually means that i will have to sit through hour long rants about how men are low, stupid, disgusting, dirty, etc.
I'm not perfect, but I know I'm not any of those things I listed, and my short time on earth is too precious to spnd it with a woman who wants to prove that I'm wrong about that.
It's about RESPECT and EQUALITY. Lower your banner of self-rightousness.

Feminism is awesome ... but everything in "moderation".
That's the key word: Moderation
It's not that we're afraid of it. I think it's great. But I'll tell you one thing. If I ever meet a girl who is deeply into feminism, movements, and brings the topic up in nearly every situation ... I'd be extremely annoyed and weirded out. Sure, Feminism is important, but don't let it become your world or religion. Everything in moderation.

It paints a picture of a angry woman who wants to de-ball every man she sees. So in a way its intimidating, not even a good man wants to be with a woman who in some form hates men.

Often this will make guys think of a so-called "man-hating feminist."
I wouldn't call it a fear so much as a reaction to a belief that there will be no interest from the start. He will therefore have no interest in you.

shallow men are afraid of strong women. i respect women no matter what, i embrace them as a matter of fact. i have no problems with a feminist, should be some good conversation too!
i grew up with women and i plan on teaching (a field surrounded by women). i know not to disrespect women, so i have no qualms with striking something to talk about with a feminist sitting next to me.
