One is to turn off ALL distractions, including this website once you read what I have to say. Do not have on any music, nothing, all you should have is a light, a desk and the books.
Close all the doors, even lock yourself away as every distraction is just a waste of time when you must cover a massive ammount.
When reading, look for all the big headings, anything in bold you shoudl know, and anything underlined as well is a must to know.
If you want to skip the body of the chapters, just read the title, and get the main idea from the first few pages, and then jump to the review section and just do this while using the main Idea that you had learned from the first few pages.
While doing this take notes on the important things and try to make up your own numonics ( things to help you remember. For example ROYGBIV is the colours of the rainbow Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and violet. Things like this help ALOT)
If this doesn't work then you just gotta sit down and read it page by page, work by word.
Best o' luck.

Make sure you get enough sleep. A proper amount of rest will make your study time more efficient and your memory better.
While studying, make sure that you drink plenty of water and take breaks from time to time. Change position so that you don't hurt your neck and back.
Study in a way that helps you. Some people learn better by talking, some by drawing diagrams, some by reading, some by moving while studying, and so forth. Whatever works for you, do it. Use your strengths.
I hope everything goes well.
