I guess its when we listen more.
When the rest of the world isnt on our minds and we wind down from the day that we listen and see more of whats happening around us.
I dont think it would matter if it was night or day.

people are tired, more suggestive, and due to our evolutionary traits (we are day walkers) we are more uncomfortable during night time. I also like the dude's anwer that we get more drunk at those times.
Of course, there are no gods, ghosts, spirits and demons.

That's when the mind is most likely to have less information about its surroundings. Also, that's when people are drunk.
