I partly agree with you - I think we should worry about it..... but there is a lot of unknowns - we have no idea what the world will do next and I really don't think we can control it. We selfishly think we own this planet and actually it will do what it wants to do!!

Very few academics think that what we are seeing is "a natural progress in the earths cycle" however the ones that do get put on TV disproportionally. It is difficult to predict the future but most people are now in agreement.
A recent study by the UK government by a senior economist said that in the future, the world economy will shrink by 20% if global warming was not stopped. It could be stopped if 1% of the global economy was invested now into CO2 free technologies.
Would you want to pass on this financial burden and a planet that is falling apart to your grandchildren?

Global warming is changing the world as you know it today.
Humans do contribute. Yes, temperature would still have increased without human interference, but not at the RATE at which it currently is. The world you need to imagine is one of chaos, where you've lost family and friends to natural disasters, where the temperature is uncomfortably hot, where agricultural production in many areas of the world have ceased because of a lack of water. It is a grim picture. We're speeding towards it. A world where a great number of species has become extinct, where water is a scarce resource and humans start wars to fight over available water resources. Food is scarce. No more long warm hot baths, no more feasts at Christmas time. Surely doesn't seem like something we should worry about then? should we? Fact of the matter is, you won't be here to live through the dreadful times, you'll be long gone...so maybe that's why you insist no one should worry....everyone should worry, everyday and do all they can to try and change things. I went to Europe over Christmas, and there was NO SNOW, not a flake..........it's here, it's real and if you do your homework, you'll see it's definitely something to worry about....

All you say is true up to a point. Yes the government want us to use less energy but global warming is not the reason.
The real reason, the real and inescapable catastrophe that awaits us all is the end of cheap oil.
It has taken mankind 125 years to use half the worlds oil and it will take us just 25 years to use the other half. Without oil our society will crash..starvation, riots, energy wars all these things await us in us a few years for end of The Oil Age will soon be upon us.

Rather than rely on your opinion regarding a catastrophe of historic proportions I suggest you read The National Academies of Science report on climate change (this organization was founded by President Lincoln in 1863 to serve as official science and technology advisor to the office of the president). The academy states global warming is real, is occuring to man's burning of fossil fuels, and urgently recommends immediate and decisive action lest a point of no return is reached in the near future. The world scientific community agrees on this issue so I suggest you study the science unless you want to live in a world devoid of plant and animal life. The signs are everywhere.

well, global warming is much faster now. there hasnt been anything in the past to ruin the ozone as fast as we are now, since trains all the way up to the hummers today. so, nature really hasnt experienced this before. its speeding it up very fast and if the polar caps were to melt, of course animals would die, but sea level could rise about 20 inches world-wide and that definately would effect countries' borders and the people populating them.

First at all you must think that it is happening because of the tegnology created by man !!! The man itself is destroying the earth and most countries in the world and their goverments don't do anything in order to create a law , some rules to avoid it !!

US judges grapple with global warming
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E-Mail article Print-Friendly
IT’s not about the science, and it’s not about any moral imperative. But the US supreme court’s decision to tackle global warming for the first time is expected to have far-reaching and lasting consequences for US policy.
The question before the court on Wednesday was technical: does the administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have the authority, or even an obligation, to set limits on greenhouse-gas emissions based on a 16-year-old law passed by congress on air pollution?
Three cities, 12 states 14 environmental groups, several businesses and a ski resort argue that it does. But 10 states, nine car makers, utility companies and businesses back the EPA’s claim that it has no such authority.
The case hinges on whether carbon dioxide — a natural gas that in large, man-made quantities is blamed by most scientists for global warming — can be considered an air pollutant under the 1990 Clean Air Act, and whether it must therefore be regulated due to its harmful effect on public health.
The conservative Bush administration acknowledges global warming is happening, and is partly man made, but has so far stood by voluntary caps on emissions, and refused to set mandatory limits, on account of their negative economic effects.
The US has remained outside the Kyoto Protocol, an international agreement that sets targets for each country participating to cut carbon-dioxide emissions. The US contributes about 25% of greenhouse gases.
Congress has so far been unwilling to approve mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions, whether from cars or power plants, an oddity given that the current court case hinges on a law congress passed.
Environmental groups recognise their approach’s shortcomings, but maintain it is the only way to spur action.
The Sierra Club’s Josh Dorner says: “Regulating global warming through litigation is the least effective way to do so, but we are just not willing to wait any longer. Even if we lose, this simply is going to increase the pressure on congress to act.”
In contrast to the federal level, 11 states across the country are poised to adopt stringent emissions standards on new car models, an authority they claim to derive from the Clean Air Act, but which could be quashed by the US Supreme Court.
The court’s nine judges appeared divided this week on which way to rule and on how conclusive scientific evidence of man-made global warming is.
“I gather that there’s something of a consensus on warming, but not a consensus on how much of that is attributable to human activity,” said Judge Antonin Scalia.
“It goes to how imminent the harm is, and how redeemable the harm is.” Though the case hinges on a technical issue, the judges seem acutely aware of its importance. Judge Anthony Kennedy, who many expect will be the deciding voice, said he was doubtful of a “reassuring statement that we need not decide about global warming in this case”.
Some analysts think the court will take a middle ground: authorising but not obliging the EPA to act, and so allowing state laws to go ahead. A decision is expected by July. DPA

Why not?
When your own survival is at high stakes and high risk out there in planet of apes.
Look around at the destruction of our natural universal weather control system is already out of control in planet of apes.
Look around at the destruction of our natural universal water life-cycle system in planet of apes.
How long do you expect to be still standing in planet of apes?
What do you expect your little ones be doing when all the water life-cyle and weather control system all disappear into thin air in planet of apes?
Ever wonder can they all survive out there with what is over the horizon in planet of apes?

Because people don't care about their ******* children, or their childrens children. People only care about how much money they can have, right now. People only think about heaven and hell. Not the fact that they might have to live through the next life. Tell your government that you'd rather breathe then be rich.
