I applied for a capital one credit card and got it however i've heard many bad things about them. The have sent me my card but i havent activated to also do i need to do anything with it if i decide not to use the card? So basically all i want to know is what bank i should go with and what to do with my non activated capital one credit card? Any help will be appreciated!

If you plan to spend money that you don't have yet with your credit card, you'd have to be very careful with the interest rate and finance charges. They could be over 30% of your balance. It's not the bank that matters, it's the rate these credit cards could charge you when you have a balance unpaid.

If you are trying to establish or re-build your credit, I would activate it and then cut it up. Make sure you pay the fees that are due on time. This will help boost up your credit score. Chase and Citibank are great credit cards as well. Don't use them...cut them up. Just use cash or your debit card for all your purchasing needs.

Really you should look at all banks to see if there is a credit card that is suitable for you. There are many varieties, such as no yearly fees, lower interest rate and point programs.

Chase is a good bank. I have capital one and have never had any problems with them.

Yeah...Capitol one isn't good. A credit union is a great idea
