It's a combination of both. There is someone out there for everyone, but in order to make it work longterm, it most definitely takes work and compromise. You may have moments whereas you feel you aren't getting the support that you deserve, but you have to take into consideration what the other person is going through.
If you TRULY want it, you will be willing to work for it.
IN ORDER TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP, YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING WORK ON IT CONSTANTLY.

The truth is that I believe it to be a combination. There are times, that people fall in love, "at first sight". That is not usually the case for most of us. I believe that there is someone special out there for each of us! The problem is that usually one or the other, doesn't see it right away. That is why we work and compromise. In every relationship there is a give and take, just make sure it's an even trade off. You can't give in to everything, and you can't have your way all of the time. Working to make things special, leads to things just working out being special! Any relationship needs nurturing, and we as people, need to feel special. Forget false compliments, tell your partner what it is about them that makes them special to you, and find out from them what makes you special in their eyes.

Life is not like a fairy tale. The hard realities of life are sometimes difficult to withstand. Maybe just 5% of the people meet someone special and live happily, with minimum compromise. The other 95% just work and compromise.

there is a special someone out there for everyone. however, it takes work and compromise to make it really work. i found my special someone in the middle of the mojave desert, and we have been married now for almost 10 years. you'll know when you meet that special someone.....don't settle for 2nd best. good luck in your search.

yes it takes work, but as for compromise, no way. because you will always resent the person because they were not right to begin with, and you can and will spend all your time wishing they would change, and that is not going to happen
