my step father woke up and pulled the battery out it was reading 115 bt my mother said it was reading 400 before...what is this what do i do?

Find or at least look for the sourse of the carbon monoxide. 99% of the time a call or visit to a local fire station will bring someone with gadgets to pinpoint the cause within minutes.

Get out of the house and call the fire department. It's dangerous to stay in an environment with carbon monoxide!

Get out? Geez, why did you buy an alarm if you are just going to use the batteries in your discman? Go outside and argue until the gas guy gets there.

Get out of the house, call the fire department and have them check it out. They don't call Carbon Monoxide "the silent killer" for nothing

Open some windows for a little while and make sure your furnace is working properly for starters.

open a window. it comes from your furnace. get out or die in your sleep. your call. the battery pull was the dumbest thing i've heard in my life. cleaning the gene pool if you ask me.
