I have a 1996 GM Goodwrench Flag (original GM, not some aftermarket company) that is signed by the late great Dale Earnhardt. This flag is black with the big white 3 trimmed in Orange. The signature is in perfect condition and I am getting ready to have it framed and insured.

Do you have proof that it is an authentic signature? I have seen some people that have actually taken a picture of the person signing the item for authenticity. You can probably pay some official to authenticate it for you. How much is it worth to you? That is a start at how much it is worth. If it's worth a lot, would you sell it?

The value of any autographed item is only increased if you can prove that it is originla GM not aftermarket and that the signature is real. You would do this by either having pictures of the person signing the item or a certificate of authenticity. Otherwise, the signature could be forged. You can also try to halfway verify the signature by the comparing it to a verfied Dale Earnhardt signature that someone else has on some other item. For insurance purposes I think they will need to have an appraisal by an antiques or memorabilia dealer but check with the insurance company. Also, make sure you get it framed by a true professional so that it will stay good forever hopefully.
