Does anyone have any tips when flying that they don't usually tell you about? I know the basics, but i am looking for some, somewhat secret tips to make the flying process, easier, faster, or just more interesting.

Check beforehand what kind of plane you'll be flying. See what it offers (Airbus planes usually offer your own personal screen, on which you can watch the news, various movies, play games, etc - and it's at no extra cost!) if not then take something to do with you.

Take some hand cream, especially on long flights, since it gets dry in the cabins. Take lip balm too, while you're at it.

If its a flight thats shorter than 5 hours they rarely serve (inclusive) food, so bring something for yourself on the plane.

Wear a sweatshirt.

Get up and stretch every once in awhile, to circulate blood flow.

Request a seat as far up front as possible. The air is cleanest at the front. This will help you avoid catching a flu, cold, or whatever disease may be floating in the recycled air.

There's a site called seatguru.com where you can research different planes, their seat types and amenities; it makes recommendations of comfortable and uncomfortable seats to aid in your seat selection.

Bulkhead seats usually mean babies nearby.

Always get an aisle seat so you can get up and move around easily.

If you purchase your ticket and the price later goes down, you can get flight credit for the difference.

Use online check-in and curbside baggage check.

If you're going to be crossing more than four time zones, start adjusting your internal clock a few days before to get yourself closer to the destination point's time. For example, when going to Europe, start going to bed earlier and getting up earlier for a few days before the flight. (My last flight I woke up at 2:00 AM on departure day--I didn't have any jet leg when I arrived.)

make sure your flight has individual screens with movies and games, take advantage of the free alcohol and take some travel pills (don't get non drowsy) they will knock you out for a couple of hours. Try staying up the night before as well, my boyfriend and I did this and were asleep before the plane took off for the next few hours, it really felt like a shorter trip

There are lots of airports around the world that have lounges. Some for a fee and some for free. You can get a 30-minute massage or foot spa within the facility. It can be sooooo relaxing!

It's called "The Mile High Club".

More interesting and not boring.
