Resume = your personal details( Address,Email, Contact numbers), summary of your qualification's, experiences, skills, interest, your undertakings and expected salary.

Cover letter = A brief introduction about yourself of what you're currently persuing, your interest for the company and the position you're applying for.....(you may state your contact details if you wish).

A cover letter accompanies your resume when applying for a job. It address the company you are applying to and states why your the right person for the job. What qualities you possess that they're looking for and what experiences you have that will benefit you. Your resume is more detailed and states your education and work experiences with contact details and references.

a cover letter states why you are applying, and what you are applying for. a resume states you're qualifications, contact details and previous experience. however you can put contact detals on the cover page.
