as a dog lover i can give you a couple of tips all depending on what you feel most comfortasbile doing. give the dog water 3 times a day about a glass full. take him for longer walks, not the 5 min he peed time to go inside walks. like a 20 min to half hour wlk. if you have a patio or terrace put newspaper down and let him play outside for about 20 min every 4 hours.or the conventional method there are the these called wee wee pads and u put it on a ceratin part of the floor and the dog smells something and goes to that spot everytime he pees. there not that expensive and they last a while its your best bet

Neuter him. That's the only way.
Dogs should always always always have water available to them. You dont know when they are thirsty and they cant tell you and if without water for too long they can become dehydrated and sick. Pull the water dish up at night so he's not drinking an excess during the night but any other time make sure he has constant access to clean water. his marking has nothing to do with the intake of fluids. He is marking using a solution special to him that is a mixture of pheromones and urine that makes it smell just like him. The pheromones are created by the testes. If you remove the testes, you remove the hormones created by them, therefore removing the need to mark. After his neuter surgery, he might continue to lift his leg as if he were spraying, but there is nothing to spray

First you need to have him neutered. This will help a lot.
If he still does it, you can use a belly-band. Look on e-bay for them or in pet supply catalogs.
They are nothiong more than a piece of material that fits around the male dog with a velcro closure on the ends with a "Poise" (or any other brand) pad inside it.
You can make one out of an old tube sock too. I like the "Serinity" pads the best. Just change them about 4 times a day and sprinkle some baby powder on your dog.

You didn't give much info. If you dog is already neutered he shouldn't be doing that. If he is neurtered and is still young enough you better get him done soon.

neuter him. that will help. please don't limit your dog's water intake, it can cause serious health problems. plus if your dog is a lab 3 cups of water a day is not near enough to keep him hydrated.
