what you need to do is go to the courthouse and file the paperwork for sole custody. 90% of the time if the mother is no way unfit then the judge will side with the mother but you have to be prepared to fight maturely and make sure that you have affidavits pertaining to your character stating that you are a fit, loving, responsible and caring mother. goodluck and hope this helps you!!!

Okay congradulations on being a mom. You age is not an issue, your son in spirit wanted you as the gateway to be on this earth and dad, well his sperm makes brain and spine while your egg makes baby's body. You are the mother and you are the form of human life here to mother the child. Dads are here to help you be a mother and bring up the child. For a guy to make threats that he will take the baby is showing a level on immaturity that is not a good sign for a guy wanting to be a dad. Go to the local court hous and talk to a magistrate of judge and ask about your rights as the birth mother. You can take out an injunction to have the baby's dad kept at bay, he though has rights to see his half of the creation, but if he wats to take the baby then he might use those rights to remove the baby from you. remember, you made that bub within you for nine months, it is a bigger part of you than that of the dad's. You made a life within yourself and that life is there with you now to hold and love, so why should the dad take it away from you? It happens though but be strong and talk tosomeone in the leagal fiels about what you can doo. Family care, Child welfare, Single mothers groups, these may be of some line of thought for you. I hope I've helped you and enjoy being a young momth, it's hard work and only mother can do it.

It's probably just that A TREAT! I've been thru the entire custody battle and it is a long and expensive process and often gets very nasty. Basically, if you provide for your child and there is no reason for him to take the baby chances are that the court will not remove the child from your custody. Just remember it is your words against his and the judge can believe either party. You can start the process of custody by filing papers and there is State Aid for legal fees if you know where to look. Good Luck

Go apply for welfare. Go there today. Apply for assistance for the baby. Ask them about the paperwork for child custody. They will help you get the custody you need. Legally once they give you assistance for the baby then you have custody!!! They will send you to the Friend of the Court to ask for child support from him, too. You will need that. Once you apply for those two things then he cant come and take the child. The Friend of the Court can help you to have the papers you need to give to the police if he does try to take the child.

K- my ex tried this one. I lived in Texas, so check with your state and counties first before applying this to anything. My ex had taken my daughter away from me, and kept her for 2 wks. (While doing drugs, and he was quite abusive) When I finally got her back the cops in both of the counties we lived in (his and mine) told me that we could go back and forth all day long; custody wasn't set. I couldn't afford to go to court, so I kept her away from him until his parole officer set up the child support hearings. Then, without any cost to me, she was put in my full custody and he would be arrested if he took her w/o permission. Check with a local lawyer; there are pro bono lawyers that will help you if this doesn't. Get a PROTECTIVE order - they can actually be enforced, whereas a restraining order really has no effect.

Walk the straight and narrow...dont do anything that could be called 'unfit' around the baby, dont smoke, drink, go out and leave the baby with a sitter, let the baby cry for too long ...all that good stuff...keep a written account of all the threats he makes, call the cops if it gets out of hand...now theere will be a public record of his bad behavior. At this point I dont see what going to family court would do, but you can have an hour long 'interview' with any lawyer for free. Find one in the phone book who can guide you better....for now...dont let that baby out of your sight!

Go to a lawyer or legal aid ASAP. A child belongs with his/her mother. Unless of course the mother is abusing, neglecting, etc. the child, then she belongs in jail.
Why does he want to take the baby away from you?
Seek legal help ASAP!
Is his name on the birth certificate?

Unless you are neglecting your baby or using drugs there is no way that he will be able to take your baby away. Just be a good mom and take HIM to court for child support.

This is a legal matter. You need to go to court. Most courts give joint custody unless one parent is unfit.

Be an adult and handle it like an adult. Go to the courthouse and get a restraining order against him, and make sure your side of the street is clean and tidyu. Leave him now, and protect yourself and your child. Take it from me, my ex stole my kids when they were toddlers, I didn't see them again until they were adults.
