No. Just making a declarative statement that you a homosexual isn't going to get you out of the military.
There will be an investigation including the possibility that they will go back and ask you civilian friends, their friends your family, guys you went to school with and people at your last civilian job (if you had one). It's almost like a security clearance background check.
This will or can take several months. If they find tat there are no grounds to indicate you are a homosexual they you can...and will be charged with lying to a superior, fraud and filing and signing a false statement. Oh...and you will be charged with conduct unbecoming. If convicted of conduct unbecoming I think the UCMJ allows for Dishonorable Discharge...after possible prison time.
Yea...looking better and better to make a false claim in the hopes of getting out of the oath you swore and the contract you read and signed.

Being gay has no effect on the military allowing you to join. If someone wants to join the military or do anything for that matter, they can do it no matter who they are. Being gay doesn't change anything for you in this society. Go ahead, join the military and serve our country, you will be respected no matter what.

Yes, they can, IF they pass the tested of assurance that go with it. That person signed a legally binding contract with the U S government, and the government expects them to abide by the terms of that contract. If the government, or it's agents believe that the person is lying just to get out of service, they can make live unbearable for that person. It has been done before, and I'm sure it will be done many times more. If this is what you are thinking about, I'd advise you to think a bit more about it. If your stand is untrue, then they could try you for breech of contract, send you to a Federal prison along with fines, a Dishonorable discharge that will follow you the rest of your life as well as make a felon of you. If they went that far, then you basically lose your rights as a citizen. If this is what is desired, then that is your choice.

Well, they have to prove it, so......
Ha -- jest joking --
Uhmm -- it used to be you had to disclose before you joined, and so you'd be guilty of fraud. Under the don't ask rule I'm not sure. It wouldn't be pleasant, I'm sure. They'd likely put the person on casual duty for six months first while they processed the discharge --- and casual duty is often anything but casual -- often sweating it out on kitchen duty - cutting grass - cleaning bathrooms - etc.

LOL!!
I've seen someone try that.
He walked into the 1SG's office and said he was gay so that he could get out of the military.
The 1SG told him that if he was gay, to prove it by giving him a BJ.
The guy went back to work....
LOL!!

the new cadets signed a contract, like any contract there are sever consequences if it gets broken.
should they have a health problem not related to combat, they are asked to leave cause then they would be a hindrance to the service

I would think it would result in a less then honorable discharge that would haunt them for the rest of their lives.
4 years...come on....stop looking for a shortcut or the easy way out.

It is actually much more involved, you can't just say you are gay. There will be an investigation to confirm it...... unless they catch you in the act.....

Sure. I'm not sure if the reason for the discharge would be noted, but it's usually an "other than honorable" discharge.
