Even the filled doughnuts, have jellies or sugary cremes. I've found that only in Hawai'i do they have custard or apple puree filled doughnuts. Also, only in Hawai'i can you get lightly or unglazed doughnuts. Are all americans trying to get diabetes on purppose? or is this just a food industry conspiracy with the drug manufacturers.

I live in Sacramento CA, I have looked everywhere, markets & bakeries they all say that they don't sell unglazed doughnuts. I especially loathe the lemon filled ones drowned in sugary glaze.
I particularly miss the lightly powdered (sugar) custard filled doughnuts from King's Bakery, that I grew up with.

Businesses here know how to cater to the sugar cravings of Americans. Most doughnut shops I know of have plain, unglazed doughnuts. Even Krispy Kreme.

First, it's the frying, and then the sugar, and then the glazing. 99% unhealthy but it's extremely popular here in North America.
I actually know a guy from Asia, and he told me the first time he had doughnut was when he travelled to Canada. he had on bite and threw it away because he thinks it's like eating a block of sugar.

It's all in what you're used to and not just with donuts, but with anything that we eat or drink. You forgot to ask if we want to also become obese on purpose, as they seem to go hand in hand.
BTW, the donuts that you described, sound yummy. I think it's possible to get custard filled donuts in some areas...
Oh, there is no conspiracy, or the food industry equivalent of the Men in Black would've been to Dunkin' Donuts to investigate. (After having a coffee and a sugary donut! LOL) Please don't give the drug companies any ideas...

Oh man!!! I have such mixed emotions about doughnuts! If I'm in a room with warm, fresh doughnuts then I am powerless!! lol
But if I just sit and think of them, like I am now, I'm disgusted. Pure sugary heart attacks waiting to happen.
Sorry if I didn't help you & went off the subject. ..thoughts of doughnuts do that to me! :)

They sat that the USA is the most overweight country, I guess this is why. You have to admit though, there isn't anything like a good warm glazed doughnut with a cold glass of milk!!!!!

I've seen doughnuts that don't have glazes or powders or fillings on them. I can usually find them in stores...they're just plain doughnuts. Good luck in your search. God Bless

I am sure it doesn't matter to you, but eating a lot of sweet, sugary things will NOT give you diabetes. Thats an old wives tale.
