Rar is a file compressing system like zip file.

.rar files are the same as .zip files. you need to get a program call WinRar it can be used for zipping and unzipping for .rar files aswell as .zip files. i got mine from a bit torrent website (scrapetorrent.com) then downloaded it in azureus

get WinRar it costs but i have a feeling you know how to fix that it will open most compressed file types and will let you make your own .rar files

use winrar . winrar is just like winzip. it handles both rar and zip files.
