That is - for a 6 year old's first big birthday party in mid-February? I am thinking I will send them out Friday or Monday but a pal of mine says that's way to early. What do you think? It's exactly one month away.

2 WEEKS- I HAVE 2 KIDS AND WHEN THEY HAVE A PARTY I SEND OUT THE INVITATIONS 2 WEEKS. THAT WAY IT'S NOT TOO SOON AND IT'S NOT A LAST MINUTE THING EITHER. WHEN MY CHILDREN BRING HOME AN INVITATION IT'S USUALLY FOR A PARTY PLANNED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AWAY ALSO, BUT A COUPLE OF TIMES MY KIDS HAVE BROUGHT HOME INVITATIONS FOR A PARTY THAT WAS WITHIN 1 WEEK AND I HATE THAT! BECAUSE OF COURSE THE KIDS WANT TO GO AND THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE WE HAD THINGS GOING ON, IF IT WAS MORE OF A NOTICE WE WOULD OF ATLEAST TRIED TO WORK AROUND IT.

If you was having a Tupperware party you would send them out 2 weeks ahead of time. for a Birthday party you need to send out 3-4 weeks ahead of time. or at least be letting people know some how. I planned Babies 1st birthday party and started letting people know a month ahead of time and most people already had then planned.

I would say 2 weeks! because if you send it to early then it is more likely to get lost and or thrown away. or also stuffed in a droor and out of the way! 2 weeks is plenty of time for others to make arrangements to come and not forget about it!!
Good Luck

Two weeks. If you send them out any earlier people may forget because they stored the invitation somewhere. Two weeks that way they have enough notice to clear their calendar and look forward to a party.

you send it out this early they might forget about it by the time the party comes, so wait for about 1 or 2 weeks berfore the party and tell them that you will call to remind again adn than call like 3 days before

For my son's first birthday party I sent them 6 weeks ahead. You need to give the people you are inviting a chance to respond, and to squeeze it into their busy family schedule.

I think 3 weeks to a month is perfect. And then maybe send out an email reminder a week ahead...

I'd say 4-3 weeks away. It gives the guests enough time to plan to come. Trust me. You dont want alot of people not coming because you sent them out too late.
