You have 2 weeks to start getting the rabies treatment, after that if you havent recieved it, you will die like a rabied animal. If you got bit... go to the ER. The treatment is very painful, but its well worth it.

Just because you are bitten by a dog doesn't mean you will get rabies..just because a dog bites it doesn't mean it has rabies either...actually odds are he doesn't. If you were bitten bad enough to get medical attention then the hospital will contact ACO and they will check to make sure all vacciantions are current and will quarantine if necassary.

If the canines's rabies vaccinations are present day, all it is needed in maximum states is a 10 day quarantine. whilst he's rabies loose on the 10th day, it fairly is it. it fairly is whilst the canines isn't present day on the rabies vaccine that the quarantine is skipped and the ideas tissue examined at once. It seems such as you're effective apart from a small puncture and probably a bruise. in case you have not had a tetanus shot interior the previous 5 years you ought to get one now. i'm specific your mom and dad gave whoever you're staying with permission to take you to the physician whilst necessary. Your wide-unfold physician ought to have it on your archives once you had your final tetanus shot. purely sparkling the area properly with cleansing soap and bypass away it open to heal.

If you are bitten by a rabid animal, you are in serious trouble. I do not know the cure rate for rabies, but I do know that it is low if immediate treatment is not given. The treatment itself is very uncomfortable. I do not believe that your body had fend off the infection without medical intervention.

symptoms usually occur within 3 wks, but may take several years in some cases...once symptoms start there is no cure i.e. death...if you were bitten, the dog should be quarantined, if it's not possible, take the shots
