If i was running for office i would be a Christian. Honestly i think its the other way around. Corrupt religious organizations force there rule in to politics. If you wanna get things done you have to make deals with people you don't like. Thats politics. Its a matter of how far you go. There is not such thing as a honest politician. If they told you the honest truth you would NEVER vote for them.

Corrupt or not, politicials, officials and all kinds of people use religion for political or popular gain. You won't likely, soon anyhow, see an islamic man or woman become president because America, and appearantly Canada, are "christian" countries. If you aren't Christian, watch tf out because people automatically judge you by who you call Lord (or Lady).
It's like male and female. When people at large see a female they don't often see a strong leader and so a female is less likely to be voted into office. The only way I could possibly see a female being voted in was if it was two females or... a female and a brain dead monkey.
Hey, I am female, but for some darn reason people just can't wrap their minds around their country being led by a woman. Maybe she would be calmer and more peaceful than her male counterparts and what they're really afraid of is that she won't start a war or doing things the "american" or "canadian" (although our politicians never seem to do it the Canadian way anyhow) way.
The same can be applied to a religion, many political figures tend to be christian, or act like they're christian. If ... a buddist ran for office everyone would wonder if he(or shee) would do the job the way they expect the job to be done.
Hrm. A buddist president. That sounds peaceful.

When corruption creaps in the mind, it is sure that they are under the influence of negative force and will always tempted to do efforts with selfish motto or with confused state or with influenced state or mis impure thoughts .... so such corrupt officials will surely exploit religion.
But the exploitation need not just because or political gain, it can be any other reasons also ... like for Fame, for lust, for money for revenge for ego etc.

All organised religions are about power and control, so religion in itself is corrupting....politicians have NEVER missed the point that control and religion go together and that a power base can be established easily because the faithfull follow the their leaders dictates.

Are there officials who have gotten the vote by any other means? I think they've all done their Kow-Towing bit to get at those religious votes, haven't they. Doesn't that amount to either a whole flock of corrupt officials or a whole flock of numb-skulls or a mixture of both?
Gosh. Will there ever be a politician who has the guts to speak out honestly about his personal beliefs?
