I'm so sorry you are having such problems! Most times, tarlov cysts cause no symptoms and you are one of the unlucky ones. Those who do have symptoms find that the problem occurs usually after experiencing a shock, trauma, or some sort of exertion.

Most treatments are temporary:
draining the cyst
corticosteroid injections
drugs for chronic pain and depression
injecting fibrin glue into the cyst

However, do not lose hope! A very experienced neurologist can do a resection...surgical removal of the cyst. The resection would give pain relief and prevent further neurological damage (since the cyst would no longer be there to press on the nerves). Some even better news is that once removed, the cyst will not come back! If your neurologist is not experienced enough to do this, please ask for a referral to one who can. You should not have to suffer like this! If he won't or can't refer you to someone, please call your family doctor or contact a hospital in your area and they might be able to give you the name of a neurologist who can help you! Good luck!
