I'm age 61. It seems like these days people simply do NOTHING BUT SWEAR AND USE VULGAR TERMS AND LANGUAGE. Also they GOSSIP and FAULT FIND OTHERS.
Gee, I WONDER HOW I MEASURE UP TO THE HIGH STANDARDS AND
E X P E C T A T I O N S which I seem to have for others BASED ON THE
SAME VALUE SYSTEM APPLIED TO M Y S E L F ----- I guess my self respect might go down a notch as I accepted some humility and responsibility
FOR MY OWN MATURITY. If I sat such an example -- others might follow,
but whether they did or not, I would have my own self respect.

I've also been thinking about this the past couple months. What happened to girls who dress to show their personality. Sure there may be some girls, but nowadays, I see girls all wearing the same things. Little girls wear things that teenagers would normally wear. I can't help but think that the incidents with the Disney stars had something to do with it. And what does Disney do? They let them continue with their careers, causing more kids to watch their shows, and be influenced by their immature behaviour. Parents may also be the blame, for allowing their children to dress that way, thinking that that'll make their child think that they are "cool and hip." As for the makeup, if it's once in a while, like for special occasions, I think that's fine. But every single day? What would one look like on the days that they don't wear makeup. These girls just try to be what they think other people want them to be, perhaps losing the ability to be themselves.

GROSSS!!! i definitely agree. people these days all they do is compete. they compete for who can look the trashiest without being labelled a slut....who has the biggest cock. who has the barbie doll figure...who can buy the most expensive clothes and jewlery, etc. the media has a huge part in this too. they tell people to look thin and plastic surgery is the way to go if you look older then you are or fatter then you are ...then you are an outcast, a loser. if you have a traditional family or strict family, you're considered uncool. it really upsets me that kids these days are being SOOOO SPOILED!!! their parents just give them everything they want and they keep asking for more. this world is sooo ******. seriously when i have kids, i'll be so scared to let them grow up in this society.

Self respect still exists. A vast majority of people in this world don't do the things you just mentioned. They don't engage in unsafe sex, extra-marital affairs, threesomes, etc. You only hear about the people in life who do bad and crazy things more readily than the people who are good and virtuous.
Just remember too that our parents who lived during the 60's and 70's were a lot more sexually liberal and lived during the Sexual Revolution than people who are in the dating scene today. The sad truth is that when the 80's came around, it was apparent that the Sexual Revolution was over and we lost big time thanks to all the diseases and social problems in the world.

people act like things dont exist anymore. they see it as they are just having fun and nothing bad will happen to them. they dont see that they are hurting people by thier actions.i mean for a man to loan out his wife is just disgusting. she is supposed to be his one and only, not his and his friends. i dont think that people realize what they get themselves into anymore. i have a cousin who is 16 and has been pregnant twice and had a baby at 14. they think the world is all fun and games, not realizing the consequences of their actions. basically people dont care anymore.

Yup society has changed and it sucks! I think it's because people have gotten too carefree.....people in the olden days don't used to behave the way they do today but somehow along the way people have forgotten this. For example in the olden days, female teachers weren't allowed to date men because they were role modals but society decided to change that...equal rights, free speech and so on, so when it came to the gays.....the society has also decided to accept that and so it became a normal thing...... Basically rules were broken and it was okay to be broken.......so when that happens......things changes..... blame society, blame equal rights....... people don't have self respect anymore..........

I have no idea! I am happy to know that there are others who feel the same as me. Yes this world we live in is so screwed up. Its very sad and depressed if you really think of it. People just don't care anymore. And please don't get me started on Animals. The abuse and all the sad stuff that happens to them.
This world is beyond help!

I have self respect but others don't REALLY. These people should be ashame of themselves. That is REALLY rude of them and disgraceful to take action like that. I guess they REALLY don't know how to be nice and polite.
I agree with you.
