The Military already uses them. The Navy uses Bottle nosed dolphins in the U.S Navy marine mammal program (NMMP). They use bottle nosed dolphins, mostly for mine detection. They were deployed to the Persian gulf in 2003 for the Iraq war. The navy claims that these dolphins successfully detected more than 100 anti ship mines in the port of Umm Qsar.

Dogs are small and weak enough to keep under control but vicious and strong enough to injure a man, most smarter animals don't have that going for them. We could for example use chimpanzees... But you can't do much when the chimpanzee rips someone's arm off or acts agressive towards the cops themselves...

Because when the dolphins catch the bad guys they wont stop humping their legs. Plus they dont behave very well in the back of a squad car.

Have you ever tried to lead a dolphin around on a leash? You have a really hard time keeping them from sniffing other dolphins butts.

Great question...shows great insight!

First thing that comes to mind is that a crook isn't going to have much difficulty running away from a dolphin.

Second thing...can dolphins sniff out drugs?

Etc...

For what ? Sniffing out drugs for airport security ?? Dogs have 500 times the sense of smell than humans do .. and they are trained for months before they start on the job. What are you ? Some smarta** ??

Uhh... first of all, dolphins don't have legs to chase suspects... unless you plan to put it on a roller and push it after the bad guy?

Cause a dolphin can't chase you down the street and bite your nuts off.
