I am 19 turning 20 and he is 40. Thats a 21 year difference for thise who want to know. But none of that has ever mattered to me. I'm just tired of my friends and family talking junk about him like hes's a pedophile. Why can't they accept that I love him and support my decisions as an adult?

For clarification, it's not a physical relatioship.

I am going to tell you the same that I just told a girl, because sometimes love does work in unusual ways even if people don't accept it. Follow you heart, but always lisen to your mind.

Love doesn't have an age. Continue dating him if you really like him. Just remember to be careful and make right decisions. No body can tell you what or what not to do and you shouldn't get caught up with what people think. It is obvious that he loves you and being older than you doesn't make him a pervert or a bad person. If people glace at you, try not to pay attention, the people that criticize are only the ignorant.

Well if you are like 12, and he's like 29 then your open for lots of criticism, but if you're like 40 and he's like 75, don't listen to what others say, it's what you 2 feel for each other. I don't see what's wrong with it, if you are both really in love with each other. I would say, that it may be hard because in theory he's going to die before you , and that will be extremely hard to deal with. But if you guys are happy, who cares what people think. You should be more loving and affectionate toward each other in front of people, so they see just how much they don't bother you.

You chose to have a relationship with eachother because it felt good. There is nothing wrong with that. If you love each other and are happy, ignore the people who make fun of you. Even if it is the two of you against the world, you still have each other.

if ya love him there is nothing anyone can do or say about it that would tear you two apart..as long as you love him for him and NOT a life insurance policy...and make that clear to everyone cause that's the first thing people will think!... depending on how old he is... but who cares good for you, you found love that's more than some people can say...no matter what the package is it's whats inside that counts!

Well how much older is he? Are these your friends that are making fun of you??? If so then they're not really your friends. Real friends are happy to know that you are happy reagrdless of who it is. If he makes you happy that's all that matters. My husband is 15 years older. People do kind of look but no one has ever made of us. All my friends are just so happy to see me very happy and in love. Just tell people if they really care about you they'll accept things the way they are...

Who is doing this and why? If it's so-called friends, tell them that if they continue to give you and your lover a hard time that you'll not stay around and listen to their abuse. If they continue, stay away from them since true friends would do as you request.
Perhaps being with an older man bothers you on some level. This may be why your friends' criticism bothers you. Ask yourself why what they say is bothering you. Good luck with it.

The only things you have to care about what people feel, Or say about this situation is yourself, And this older man. I know when people say "Just ignore what people say" It's easier said then done, But If you think about it, If they make fun of you for being in love, Then that is pretty stupid, And deserves to be ignored.

I figure if you are over 21 why not. Think of the couples that are black and white who go throw the same bashing. Do not worry about it. Most girls will, in general, find a older man is what they want. Girls want a man who is ready to settle down, has sown his oats, knows how to treat a lady, and is mature.

Here is sterling advice. Don't care what other people think. Who you date and persue a romantic relationship with is nobody's business but yours and your guy. If you two dig and love each other, then what others think is immaterial.

Usually the people who make fun of others and who they are dating; a) have no business of their own and have to mind the business of others, or b) aren't in a relationship or dating someone and have nothing better to do but to knock others.

As long as you're over 18, then there's no problem. One of my aunts married a man who is older than her mother, and they've been married quite happily for over 20 years! When people start to make comments, just tell them that everything works out, then, because you're living your life and they aren't!
