Call your next in command. Tell them you have pink eye. If they're not clueless, they'll order you to not show up. (It's very contageous--if they tell you to report remind them of that!) They might ask for a doctors note, however, for when you do report.

The only person who can exclude you from a drill is the RSP Site Unit Readiness NCO. You should of received a "welcome packet" when you first went to drill, the first contact list should have his or her name and number on it. If you don't have that, you can also just google the address and it'll most likely show a phone number to the location. Call it, and ask for the Readiness NCO.
You may or may not have to make that few days up, by going in some other time doing some lame details. That of course is up to your RSP Unit's Command.
If you need one in PA, I'm sure I could help you further finding the number...

Contact your supervisor and explain the situation.
Generally one of two things will happen. Either you will be asked to fax in a doctor's note or you will be told to report directly to the unit medics on the morning of drill.

I have no idea what the guard's procedure on missing a drill. I guess it is not too hard to get a doctor's note and miss your drill. Us real soldiers in the active Army go to sick call and get assigned quarters.

If you have a doctors note, can I assume he gave you medicine too for your pink eye. If so, you should be fine by the weekend.
I do not know how the National Guard does it, but my son is an Officer in the Army & he has to report to his Base Commander to be excused for illness. I know it seems crazy to me if you are too sick to work then you are probably too sick to report but he has reported with a fever of 102 degrees before & then gone home.

Pink eye is contagious and as such is probably best not to drill. Check with your National Guard medic.

You have to get there yourself. You report to your recruiting station for Basic but not for the monthly Drill

No. Definitely not. Well--unless your eyes are glued shut, and I've never heard of anyone having pink eye that bad. It is contagious though--don't share your mascara with anyone.

Go to drill and report to your NCO. If they say go home, then go home. If not, tough it out. If you want sympathy look in the dictionary between **** and syphilis, that's where you'll find my sympathy.

no, unless your co. deems it so. The best thing to do is go with a dr. note explaining your condition and have them excuse you or you could possibly be pulling a "Bush" and be listed AWOL from duty!
