Usually a guy basically has to be pressed into defining the relationship, because guys suck like that. More accurately, they just assume that dating exclusively and often means that you are a couple, whereas women need more assurance than that. My boyfriend and I flirted via email for an entire summer (we had good reason, though since we live 400 miles apart) and then spent about a month after we got back to college dating and spending time together before we became "official"; that was after he'd kissed me and I still had to push the issue a bit. You'll figure out a way to bring it up if you feel like you really want to be together with this guy. Good luck, honey!

It kinda depends on the guy and the girl.
Maybe you are meeting the kind of guys who need the girl to ask?
Not all guys do the asking. Some will wait until you ask bcuz they are scared of what you might say.
If you like him so much, maybe you should ask him. Couldn't hurt could it?
Good luck with this guy : )

depends on how he feels about you. he might be hanging on to you when he doesn't like you much just to be "safe." is there chemistry? are you guys similar in life goal's etc? if he's a good guy, he'll consider more before making a commitment. it takes time.
