Does it make any difference on my refund if someone else does my taxes, or I do them myself?

This really depends on your situation. If you are filing a 1040 EZ, with only W-2 income, no dependents, no IRA contributions, no deductions, no other tax credits, etc. then no, it doesn't really matter.

The more complex your return, the more you need to know.

Your refund does not change if you have someone else prepare your taxes. Many times though, a professional tax preparer can help you find additional deductions that can increase your refund and help you with future tax planning.

If you have someone else do your taxes, you'll pay a fee.

Your refund will be the same, unless you decide to have the fee deducted from it.

It does not matter. Everyone can prepare their our own tax return(s) but some people choose to hire others do it for them (usually because they don't trust themselves or don't know how to prep a return or, generally, they're lazy to do it themselves).

What does matter is the tax preparer's background i.e. education and experience.

Are you comfortable with preparing your own return?
If not, hire a tax professional such as a CPA, EA or tax attorney.

if u pay some one else to do it u can subtract that amount from ur refund considering u have 2 pay them $. otherwise if u do it all of it goes 2 u
