YES......you ditch them when you date...
they don't exist when you fall in love..... your whole world revolves around that person and if you have the easily pestered kind.. they won't want hear you talking about how beautiful your girl/guy is...
Usually the ones that love you and are happy for you will stick around the other ones just sorta disappear... so those are usually what you will consider real friends...

Are you the friend who got ditched? If it just started (the dating) by one of your friends, it's probably because the friend wants to spend a lot of time with the one they are dating. The friend is obviously side tracked right now. If you have someone to go out with yourself, maybe the four of you could sometimes double date. Maybe make a phone call to this friend once in awhile, to let them know you still think of them.

Unfortunately it is, and most people don't learn it's a mistake until quite some time has passed and they've lost touch with the former friends. If they are lucky their paths will cross again and the much wiser person will be able to resume the friendship.

I wouldn't say that friends get ditched...just the boy/girl friend gets priority.
