They will bring over food items and wave/ talk to you. But, if they are on their cellphone or talking to someone they will only look at you. They will never even lift a hand up for a simple wave, after they have already looked at you. They also find it very easy to come over if they need anything, but can't pick up their hand in other instances? They also will come off as competitive. For example if we go for a bike ride, they will be on a bike ride the same time as we are next time we are out. Not wanting to be with us, but showing us they can do it to. If they wanted to go with us they would have left the same time, not when were just coming back.

Forget about them & live your own life.

Be kind to them. They ARE folks who live beside you. You don't need a war. Why allow bitterness & anger into your life? You need not play any games with them................

Focus on yourselves.........

Takes all kinds. Sounds pretty typical of someone who is trying hard to be socially involved but who really doesn't have a very high EQ, so when they aren't "concentrating" on what to do, they just gap (eg., on the cellphone looking right through you; not acknowledging you on the bike ride). Actually, kind of humorous, if you want to take a more positive perspective (which helps). Pretty harmless, human stuff, right?

Remember that "Imitation is the sincerest form of a compliment." Think of the bike and similar occurances as evidence that you have set a great example that another wants to emulate. As far as the phone, I would just assume that they have trouble concentrating on more than one thing at a time. I know I do and when I'm on the phone and a child wants to interrupt me, I simply ignore them. Maybe they see your friendly wave as intrusive. I wouldn't, but you never know how others view it.

Just accept the person for who he or she is. Life is too short to nitpick people about their bad points. Enjoy the good things about this person, laugh amongst yourselves about the not so good, and just keep up a pleasant relationship. The person can only be competitive if you let him or her start a competition, and who needs that? It's your neighbor, not your family member, so just leave it at that.

Do what the king of queens would do, when you see them just a quick nod and go inside, avoid eye contact and find real friends to hang out with instead. Or you could do what I would probably do and confront them directly and ask them if they have a problem?

In this situation you handle your neighbor by ignoring their rudeness. Doing anything else would only start a war between you. Besides what you are describing is not really rude, they are just oblivious.

Well they are 90% on the irritating side and only 10% on the nice side. Try to distance yourselves from them.

Just wave to them showing your good signs towards them. You don't have to wait for their acknowledgement if they are busy or doing their personal stuff. We just have to be good and think others to be good.

Remember, all is human when you find bad or good things. You cannot expect everyone to be good to you, whilst there are bad things hidden behind their backs. So, my advice to you - just be nice to him/her while you're still alive, so as to be appreciated by others, even it is not him/her.
