Oregon's valley is probably the most temperate place in the country, if not the world. There is about a month or 2 in the summer that you will want a/c, and winter can get pretty cold. It doesn't snow *every* year, except in the mountains of course, but it is not rare and you will probably need heat between November and March. Rainy season starts off and on in September sometimes, or could be as late as October, and lasts until the end of May and even sometimes to mid June.

I have lived here all my life. 41 years. summers usually range in the mid 70's in June to the mid 90's in as late as Sept. or early Oct.
We do get hot weeks of summer which would in my opinion require an air conditioner. In the summer time it does not get down to the 40's at night. That would be unusual. During the winter we usually experience an average temp. of about 45-48 degrees, rainy with some weeks reaching temps into the teens but usually lows in the 35-38. This is my opinion of course. You should be able to check the average weather at weather.com

I have lived in Portland for 52 years. You take it one day at a time. Portland has all the different kinds of weather. Good or Bad. But to some it up in a simple word... That word would be comfortable. It is a thrill to get 2 snow days. It is a thrill to maybe see a lightning storm. East Winds are great for a couple of days. But for the majority of days.. it is comfortable living. Not hot.. not cold.... the big issue are the MOLDS! if you have allergies to fungas and molds... do not live in Oregon.

Portland is the BEST place to live during the summers! Take it from someone who is a native from the east coast. Plus I used to live in the Midwest.
We do not have central air conditioning in our home, but use a large wall unit in the living room. Very comfortable. N o matter how hot the weather gets (we do have some 100+ degree days) once the sun goes down, the temps fall too. By 2am, the outside temps are in the high 50s/low 60s. We turn off the window unit, open up all the windows, and use the fan on the stove to pull in the air. Imagine needing a blanket in summer---It is lovely!

I've lived here since I was 5 (22 years), and every summer it gets well over 90, usually over 100, for a couple week-long spells in July/August. That's happened as long as I can remember. I hate hot weather (anything over 70) and I've never lived with a/c, so I definitely notice the heat when it's here.
And you do have to heat your house, or everything you own will mildew in the rainy seasons.

Hello
Portland gets rain,a bunch of it. But the green and rivers make up for it. Been here for over 40 years and don't want to leave it.
It can hit 25 deg. and up to 100 deg. If you like fishing camping
and lots of sights to see, here it is.
