Yes 22 Is young & 18 for getting a felony on your name is worse. But let me ask you this.. what options do you have? ..you could either go on with the path of crime or simply go to college & try to make the best of your life. Be an inspiration to yourself & do the right thing. Best of luck to you, I hope you succeed in the future.

A Felony does look pretty bad on your resume, but 22 is barely out of the cradle in the eyes of most employers. With a felony at eighteen, and no college, the people that could give you a good job may not be very understanding. Outstanding job performances and glowing revues from previous employers could help, but those can be hard to come by.

With a felony at eighteen, and a college diploma after that, the people that could give you a good job are a lot more likely to see that you're trying to change for the better, and they'll be a lot more likely to give you the benefit of the doubt. If you think you can do it, then do it. Time is on your side as long as you're willing to try.

Your 22!
Okay considering you have another 50-60 years of your life left where do you see yourself at the moment?
True, you wasted 3-4 years of your life, but the fact that your even thinking of reforming shows that you are serious about improving the rest of your life.
3-4 years is not a very large portion of your life, and anyway its already gone, so you cant salvage it.
What you can salvage though is the rest of your life.
If you really are serious about living the next 50-60 years happily, now's the time to make a start.
Go to College, if you work hard at studies you will really shine out. The past dirt will then look insignificant. If you don't it will appear as a huge smear and will prevent you from improving the quality of your future.
So go for it young man! the Futures yours!

best of Luck!!

22 is definitely young. Yes you can go to college. I suggest that you find out what you really love to do, gain as much knowledge about that subject, and then go at it with all the passion you can. And I am not talking about your girlfriend.

If you are doing something you love, it will not be work.
If you struggle to find work, create your own. Fill a need. There will always be Dr's, mechanics, carpenters, hairstylists, drivers, etc. Genuine service industries that fulfill needs that the majority of us have in our lives. Some pay better than others, but those jobs will always be in demand. The economy will have to be wiped out for a woman to not wear make-up, or go to the salon.
And when the economy is bad is when repairmen/women are in the highest demand.

To wrap it up. Follow your heart and do what you love.

Go to college, If you feel you have the ability to get a good education and make something of your self... go for it! Even people that go to college, there is no guarantee of getting a good job. But if you don't go, there is a guarantee that you won't get a good job or make anything of yourself.

good luck, your still young an have a long future ahead of you... make the most of it!

I know how you feel..,,
Being in the system makes you feel ashamed every time you go an interview. Believe me, I know.
Think of it this way...no one is perfect. everyone has done something stupid in their lifetime...whether they admit it or not. You have to hold your head up...because you paid for you indiscretions. I know someone with the same charge and he has a decent job. Don't give up your dreams because of your past mistakes. Don't let that suck you in and hold you down forever, because if you let it, then it will. I say go to college or pick up a trade. When you go on an interview, go in with confidence. Tell them what happened truthfully...and if they see that you changed your life for the better, then surely someone will give you a second chance. Have faith...one day you will look back on days like this and laugh. Don't worry about what anyone says....if need someone just to talk to about this...feel free to email me. I know how tough it can be. I have been there...still have to go through it every time I switch jobs. It's good to talk with someone that can relate to your problems. God bless and good luck!

First you decide whether you want to lead normal life or make quick money by doing illegal acts. If you dont want to repeat the mistakes you committed it is never too late to go on the right path. You can continue education and be a honorable citizen. Help people in need if you feel like. It will erase your guilty feelings.

Having a felony isn't going to stop you from going to college. It won't stop you unless you let it. Go to school and don't worry about your past. When you apply for a job and they ask about it, be honest and let them know it's in your past. If you're willing to change and walk the straight and narrow, you'll be surprised how many people are willing to give you a chance.
