I know some very well educated Christian believers who have studied the Qur'an so that they would know how to talk to Muslims about the Lord. I believe it is okay to do so as long as you do it while keeping your heart aligned with God's purpose in your life. God said in the Old Testament, My people perish for lack of knowledge. It is always good to know exactly what you are up against when you may have to stand your ground when it comes to your faith.

It depends on where your heart is in reading it. In my ideals, no it is not. As long as your heart is truely remaing steadfast on God. If you are reading the qur'an as a source for out reaching to muslims...than it is a great thing to do. I have read it because I am versed in Gailic (irish) Muslim, and English...I felt reading the qur'an would help me reach out the muslim women. If you are going to the qur'an as a biblical answers key, I would suggest staying away from it......unless you intend to turn muslim, which I hope you don't. But as long as your intentions are good, then I think it is a good thing to do...just to be well versed in what those you are trying to help, believe.
I hope I answered your question, thanks for answering it.
God bless you

no it's not wrong to read others religions books, but you must be careful how you read them and never practicing their roots. because yours is different. alot of those religions donnot believe in
jesus as the son of God and most of them believe on old testament. and also some of them believe that their heaven is on this earth. so if you are a true christians you cannot believe on what their believe, you must follow your owen roots ,the christians roots ,because God said he's going to prepared a
place for us, but he did not say this earth. so i wish you good luck
with your studying may the lord be with you

Nope..it is the only way to learn what islam is REALLY ABOUT!

No i don't believe so. It is good to understand what they believe. I believe Aristotle said "it is the sign of an educated man to be able to reflect on an idea without accepting it" as it is good to understand their beliefs if we are to educatedly argue a point or even try to convert

I think Christians should read and know the Bible first however... then read the book..
How can you witness to someone when you can not tell them what is right or wrong about what they believe...
don't be offended by what I am saying...
